Cisco Unity Personal Communicator isn't working

We've just installed CUPC and Unity on around 25 computers. It works fine on all the computers but 2.

When I try to launch the program, the login screen comes up. I enter the correct username, password and server IP.

Immediately an error pops up and says CUPC has encountered and error will close.

There isn't any other errors or any clue as to what's preventing it from logging in.

The 2 computers that this is occuring on were also having another problem that was unique to these computers only.

A few months ago we switched from Symantec Endpoint to Trend for virus protection.

After symantec was "uninstalled", it left registry keys that prevented some services from starting. The main one was remote access connection manager.

Does anyone know what services have to be running or not running for this program to function?

This is on a XP service pack 3 box. CUPC version is 1.2(2.11220).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Have you set up detailed logging on the client and can you include it in this post?

It may help to find the cause of the problem.

We had to remove the Embassy Security Suite we had installed.
