Hello New,

to see physical ports you can use:

sh ip int br

sh int status

RT-TO-CRN-SF-E-1#sh int status

Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed Type

Gi3/1 Link -> SW-TO-CRN- connected 10 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/2 disabled 1 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/3 Failover link -> R connected 901 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/4 Stateful link -> R connected 902 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/5 Link FT x CSM connected 999 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/6 Link #1 -> RT-TO-C connected routed full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/7 Link #2 -> RT-TO-C connected routed full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi3/8 Link L1/L2 -> RT-T connected routed full 1000 1000BaseSX

Fa4/1 Link -> SW-TO-CRN- connected trunk a-full a-100 10/100BaseTX

Fa4/2 disabled 1 half auto 10/100BaseTX

Hope to help

be aware that all services modules have internal connections via GE ports:

see this on one of my switches:

each FWSM uses 6 GE, the CSM uses 4 GE and the ACE is not shown here for security reasons but you can expect it to use more then 6 ports.

in my case

RT-TO-CRN-SF-E-1#sh ver | inc Ethernet

28 Virtual Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interfaces

96 FastEthernet/IEEE 802.3 interfaces

36 Gigabit Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interfaces

1 Ten Gigabit Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface

RT-TO-CRN-SF-E-1#

I have only 8 GE external interfaces:

4 used by CSM

6 used by FWSM

ACE will use 8 GE or 1 Tengiga

Hope to help

Giuseppe

So which entry can I use to see the physical ports and the media type.
