Is it possible to club together Gigabit Ethernet and SFP ports in an EtherChannel on SUP720.

Depends on whether you want redundancy between the switches or if you feel a single link will not have enough bandwidth for the traffic traversing that link. If its a gig link it takes a lot of traffic to fill that pipe. If the switches are near each and you can runn copper and have spare ports it certainly would not hurt to have an extra link. You were talking etherchannel before so you would already have a redundant link if you are running etherchannel .

Yes, you can etherchannel multiple type of media in the same bundle. All media type must support the same speed for it to work as well as sourcing from the same chassis going toward the same destination chassis.

Is it recommended to have vlans distributed across multiple trunks between two chassis.

Or should a single trunk be used for all the vlans.

Yes, that's a common design on Layer2 inter-switch links when having multiple Vlans with equal amount of traffic on each Vlan.

You can designate Switch A to be STP root of Vlan 1,3,5,7 (odd vlans) and Switch B to be STP root of Vlan 2,4,6,8 (even vlans), then the leaf switches will direct the traffic towards the root.

I'm assuming this is a separate question since you initial inquiry was about etherchannel and this inquiry is about trunking. These are 2 separate technologies that are often confused.
