Migrating over 300 end users directory numbers?

Our office is being migrated from a front end Nortel Option 11 to full Cisco VOIP and we have to migrate over 300 end users over next weekend. Can we create the end user accts in advance and place them in a separate partition until we cutover so that they do not interfere with phone calls between the Call Manager end users and the Nortel users?

Any advice on how deployments this size are done would be greatly appreciated.

We are running on call manager 5.1.

Rgds,

Vicky

That`s the best way, I would recheck BAT and make sure you can identify a common feature, name - Partition name, description etc for the users you wish to cut over so that you run a report query in BAT and then use BAT to change the Partition. Depending on the version of BAT what seems obvious is not always s the case

Example you may have 3 floors but only wish to cut across 1 floor per weekend so it is best to BAT import all the users but use the description to identify each floor so all users on floor 1 are called floor 1, floor 2 etc and then use BAT to identify each "floor" and then use it to change their Partitions from "hidden" to active

One more thing. Depending if you are lucky on the dial plan, If all your DN`s are in a single block or you are doing a complete over then that`s ok but if you are doing a staged move then ask the Nortel guys to configure Vacent Numbering LD 15, TYPE NET- it is similar to creating a route pattern of XXXX in that any number which is not known by the Nortel is routed to the CCM i.e you have deleted the DN so to "move" them to the CCM saves them having to create a DSC, TSC, LSC for each Nortel/ CCM user
