I agree with Istvan that if we knew more about your situation and about your requirements that we could give better answers.

If you do need to have an active EIGRP neighbor relationship and want no topology updates to be sent one alternative might be to advertise only a default route to RB. This would prevent RA from sending any topology changes. You could accomplish this by applying a distribute list to updates from RA to RB which permits only the default route, or you could accomplish this by configuring ip summary-address on RA specifying a summary of 0.0.0.0/0.

Actually the requirement is cannot use passive interface to accomplish it.

As for the solution from "rburts ", u mean sending a summary route wiht 0.0.0.0 to RB, but for your information, RB also connect to other eigrp router.

The simplest solution to this is to use different EIGRP AS numbers for RA and RB.

In that case no neighbor relationship will be formed and no updates will be sent.

The problem is that Rick and I come up with different solutions in each our post, and you release a little piece of information or restriction on why this solution is not suitable.

If you cannot give full information on the conditions you have to meet then we will exchange emails for weeks and not find a right solution for you.
