Single Mode Fibre connectivity thru GLC-SX-MM= works or not ?

We have two buildings beyond 200 metres.We have got single mode fibre running between the buildings but we have GLC-SX-MM= SFP module in hands.CAn we do the connectivity ?If works,is it a standard pratise ?

Here is a link that shows where you can mix MM with SM and if a conditioning patch cord is needed (refer to Table 6).

Hello Sivakumar,

it doesn't work :

SM fiber acts as a narrower filter and will drop most of optical energy of the MM transmitter.

You need SM GBICs or SFPs to use SM fiber
