Hi,
GRE tunnel protocol showing tunnel down..But i am able to ping the tunnel destination IP..Could you pls let me know problem...
ite very very urgent

Did you configure the GRE tunnel to use keepalives? Failure of the keepalive (if configured) would be one cause of the symptoms that you describe.
I would also ask if you use extended ping and in the extended ping specify the target address as the tunnel destination address and specify the ping source address as the tunnel source address. In that extended ping does it still work?

Hi
I am getting the same error tunnel line protocol is down. The ASA is placed between the two routers and the gre tunnel is configured on both routers. Tunnel destination on both ends are able to ping each other but tunnel IPs cant ping each other. Also tunnel line protocol is down i have allowed gre on ASA from outside to inside. Kindly give me suggestions its very urgent.
