LMS 3.1.1 : Device Discovery not working

I have a LMS 3.1.1 running on Windows 2003 (with Sophos Anti-Virus, no host firewall). Device Discovery on this LMS stopped working on 17 Oct 08. It was working fine previously.

When I Start Discovery, the status goes from Initializing to Stopping. It will show 0 devices discovered.

CSDiscovery.log only shows this generic message:

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (CTM.common).

log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

2008/10/22 10:00:10 SnmpSocketManager: Shutting down all SNMP sockets.

Io error while closing SnmpSocket : Cannot assign requested address: Datagram send failed

We tried rebooting the server, it doesn't help.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

It looks like you have a typo in your CDP seed settings. Your seed device is preceded with a space. Take the space out in front of your CDP seed, then re-run Discovery. You should start to get some devices.

Thanks a lot. You're spot on. We managed to run discovery after removing the preceeding space.
