Hi there,
actually I'm trying to use EoL-Report feature in RME 4.2.
Unfortunately the machine is not connected to the internet, therefor I tried to use the EoX-offline report feature.
Trying to download the required file (local_xml) via the state URL in docs (RME 4.2 Chapter 23) the link seems to be dead.
Download-Link:
http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/front.x/eox/RME_PSIRT_DETAILS.pl?action=download
Doc-Link:
Are there any other possibilities to download that required file?
Thanks for any feedback

Hi,
thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately the link you provided does not work (Result in Browser-Window: Please refresh the page and try again).
I tried with Firefox and IE and a direct connection to the internet.
Could you please post the actual file in this thread?
Are there any possiblities to get the file (e.g. ftp-download, send via email-service, ...)
Thanks for any feedback.

I cannot post the file. I'll check with the RME developers to see if Cisco.com is having a problem. We have been experiencing problems with this data recently.

Development is aware of the problem, and they are working with the Cisco.com team to fix it. The issue is that the size of the data file is too large, and the Cisco.com server is timing out.

Hi Joe,
thanks for this information.
Is it possible for you or the guys from DE to put the file on the ftp-server download site
for RME (ftp://ftp-sj.cisco.com/cisco/cw2000/patches/rme/) to workaround the problem for now?
We need that EoX-Information very urgent to create Reports for our customers.
Thanks for your good and fast support.
Best Regards
Lothar

The data cannot be generated right now due to its size. When the issue is resolved, it will work for both you and us.

Hi there,
any news regarding this issue.
As we now need the EoX-Data, are there any possibilities getting the needed data?
Best Regards

It is still being worked on. The last update I received says it should be back online by the 29th of November at the latest.

This has now been fixed, but there are some changes. First, you must download a zipped version of the file from:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/eox/RME_PSIRT_DETAILS.pl?action=zip
Then, unzip the file, and follow the regular instructions for installing it.

It depends on how the browser behaves. The first thing you should get is a Cisco.com login page. Then, Firefox will auto-decompress the file, and display it as a text file. In IE 6.0, you may have to go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, and click "Restore Defaults". I'm getting the same blank page in IE 7.0. I still haven't found the option to make it work there.

Try this URL:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/eox/RME_PSIRT_DETAILS.pl?action=zipdownload
You may have to refresh a bunch before the file actually downloads.

Hi Joe,
now I finally got the file.
Do you know how often this file will be updated?
Best Regards

The PSIRT list will be updated whenever there is a new advisory. The EOX data generally gets updated whenever a new EOX announcement is made. If you download the file once per month, you should be good.
