Hi all, in my network, I have core switches, distribution switches etc. Is it a good idea to say have a monthly reboot or failover of the equipment ? do people do this ?

Hi Carl,
Why do you need to reboot all your devices every month?
For the network i manage, the uptime for most of our devices ranges between 2 and 3 years, and all is working fine with no issues.
Rebooting devices can help if defragmenting the memory, where this can be useful in case you are having memory issues. If not, then there is no need.
Cheers,

I would say dont reboot unless an IOS upgrade is made or a memory clear is needed. I have seen devices in the field with uptimes of 4 to 5 years and ambient temps in the closet at least in the 100 degree range.
