Need to know how the redundant power supplies work in the 3845. At 110V the is draw 4amps, does each power supply draw 4 amps and thus the total is 8 amps for the unit or does one PS draw 4 and other 0 until failure ?

Id say thats a tough question there is a show command that will show how much each PS is drawing. My guess is the primary PS is drawing 4amps this does not mean the secondary will be drawing 8 amps. Amps depends on the load being placed on the power supply and since the second PS is probably not loaded heavily it would be drawing some power. If you killed the secondary PS the primary would most likely still be drawing 4 amps.
