VLAN 1

Hi,

As we are having some perfomance problems when logging into the network i'm doubting about my switch config.

What i did is :

Changed native vlans on the trunks to vlan 900

configured layer 2 and layer 3 vlan 900

did a shutdown for vlan 1

Is there still traffic going into vlan 1 even if you changed native vlan to another 1.

Did i forget some commands?

Best regards

Jorg

Jorg,

You have all the control traffic like CDP,VTP,Pagp that always uses Vlan 1 to travel across the turnk links. Its always advisable to use a separate management vlan or probably a different native vlan but Vlan 1 will always carry the above listed control traffic.
