Moving unity to a new domain

We will be moving our Unity 5.0 to a new domain. The new domain will be Exchange 2007 on an 08 OS server.

So it looks like I'll have to install the ES 56 for one.

Also what do I need to do to move Unity to the new domain? we have failover involved as well.

Tac sent me a doc but it looks like it's for 4.2 and earlier and I'm having a hard time getting them to reply back to me again with correct docs.

thanks in advance for any help.

Hi!

I guess the link they sent is this one:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/42/upgrade/guide/ex/ru_080.html

It applies to Unity 5.X too. Basic steps are:

1. Run DB Walker, if there are any error you will need to fix them.

2. When all problems are fixed run the latest DIRT Backup tool, and back up Unity.

3. Rebuild the unity server from scratch in the new domain.

Unity version should be exactly the same version as before.

4. Run DIRT Restore to restore Unity.

5. run DBWalker again to verify if all is fine.

6. run utim, to integrate the unity with Callmanager server

You're kidding me? I have to rebuild the whole servers? what a crock.

unfortunately it's not a joke and has been like this in all releases.

you're not the 1st one facing this but there is no other supported way to do this

Yep, this is a domain change, have to DiRT it and that is a rebuild.

You are actually lucky there is actually a way to do it.
