ASDM 6 + FireFox 3 + Ubuntu is fine ?

I'm a Windows user running 2003/ASDM 6/FireFox 3 without any problems

I'm just got hold of a new Dell notebook into which I'm planning to install Ubuntu for management apps and the like

I don't know a damn about Linux distros ... anyone running these versions fine ?

I think I remember reading that only Sun Solaris is supported for ASDM. If anyone finds out differently please post, as I am a big Ubuntu fan and would like to start using the newest version 8.10 distro for some network management.

huh ... I'm in the same boat wanting to move all those management apps to some Linux distro on a notebook, read a bit and choose Ubuntu, now I'm starting to discover that the only thing working so far is FireFox ... Cisco ASDM/SDM don't seem to work, HP ACU is a no go, APC PowerChute is a no go, and the list goes on ...
