Okay,

I posed a question yesterday about how to span vlans across a point-to-point. I found out that we would be doing this over an optiman connection which is supposedly L2. Has anyone else done this, and if so how well does it work for you? How did you accomplish it, and what equipment did you use?

This is not a possible. You can only span over either sub-interfaces or PVCs. This is only possible with frame-relay or ATM.
