Recertify - free retake...

Unanswered Question
Oct 31st, 2008

I got an e-mail from Cisco about a free re-take to re-certify my CCNA. Does anybody know if I could take a CCNP level exam and still get the free retake if I don't pass? I know that the CCNP level exam would re-cert my CCNA, but not sure about the free retake. Anybody have experience or know if that will qualify?

I have this problem too.

I hadn't seen that promotion. Thanks for the link. I think you're right, you should be able to use it for any exam and as you mentioned any 642 professional level exam will recertify your CCNA.

Hi Andy,

Yes, the CCNP exam would qualify as it is a 642 Level exam that would re-certify your CCNA :) The only caveats here are, that your CCNA is going to expire in 2008 and both exams (I'm sure you will only need one try) would need to be taken prior to the January date listed on the link.

Hope this helps!

Yeah - that's the other debate... whether to just re-take the CCNA or go for "new" knowledge. :-)

Thanks guys!
