Hey all,
We are migrating from one service provider to another one both having MPLS connection to our DC.
Usually when we migrate a site, once the new service provider advertises the LAN subnet the old service provider's links stops working and new provider's link takes over..
This time, the old service provider is advertising a subnet 10.1.x.x/16 network to the DC.But we are planning to migrate only 10.1.2.x/24 subnet of the major subnet to new service provider. Rest of the sites in 10.1.x.x/16 will use the old provider itself.
I feel like this won't cause any issues, but can any of you guys confirm if this is going to be ok and none of the other sites won't go down.
Thanks

Hi,
As long as your new SP is advertising a more specific route (/24 vs /16 on your old SP), it should be fine.
A more specific route will be installed in the routing table.

Yes, it again depends upon the longest match in the Network Cloud.
