Solved: ASA5505 DES wit PIX

Dear Sir,

We need a product with 10 SSL VPN. Also the device need to build 10 IPsec VPN with PIX 515E in DES(not 3DES).

I find ASA5505-K8 meet the DES requirement but I cannot find a license for 10 SSL VPN.

I find ASA5505-SSL10-K9 provides both 10 SSL/IPsec VPN. But it is 3DES. Can it support DES with PIX 515E?

Or any product you think is good other than the two above?

Yes I have - I can confirm the ASA5505 supports DES encryption.

Yes - the ASA5505-SSL10-K9 does support DES as standard.

You can upgrade the PIX 515E to support 3DES for free here:-

Any documentation from Cisco mention "the ASA5505-SSL10-K9 does support DES"?

The ASA5505 supports 3DES - since 3DES is the more secure version of DES, it stands to reason that the 5505 supports DES, yes?
