Dear all,
Is there any problem when pinging the CUCM 5.1 even from Local LAN.
I got the following output while trying to ping the CUCM from our core switch:
MOA-MC-CORE2#ping 10.21.0.3 repeat 100
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 100, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.21.0.3, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!
!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!!.!!!!
Success rate is 84 percent (84/100), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/1/4 ms
please any body can help??

but why this is happen? is this will affect the performance?
Is this also happen with the Cisco IP phones 79XX series?

Appliance based CM (version 5/6/7) includes in the IP stack a rate limiting feature for icmp for security reasons. This will not affect its performance and no the phones do not behave the same way.

but i have the same on the phones that are running over the WAN, and i suffer from voice drops in the remote sites that connected over WAN links.
Any help for that?

Then you have some issues on your WAN, do you have QoS in place? Are you sending the signaling traffic as DSCP CS3 traffic? Do you see any drops on WAN when you run "sh policy-map interface x/x"?
