Hi,

we have a cisco 2960 switch which became unresponsible, no reply to pings or telnet.

when we consoled into the switch we could not type anything in and got a strange output from the switch of just 12,1,12,1,12,12 keep coming up even when we did not type anything in as well.

We had to reboot the switch and everything was ok after that.

the version is flash:c2960-lanbase-mz.122-35.SE5/c2960-lanbase-mz.122-35.SE5.bin

anyone seen anything like that before?

This problem states switch hangs, so console is not responsive. Console problems occur when the switch becomes unresponsive to input at the console port. If the console is not responsive, it means that a high priority process prevents the console driver from responding to input. Another possible cause of an apparent hang is memory allocation failure. The switch can stop responding due to a security-related problem, such as a worm or virus. To solve this problem boot the switch into ROMMON, and bypass the stored configuration, and then configure it again.
