ppp over FR

guys to config ppp over Fr we make virtual-tempelte.....i follwoed the follwing steps

made point-to-point sub interface on serial

config dlci and ppp on that interface

virual templete interface was created and gave ip address to virual-templete interface but after that i have given command show ip int brief

all saw vitual-access as well as templete interface now virtual access was up but vitual templete was down and ip was configured to virual---templete but i treid to ping the other router and i was able to do over FR link (virtual templete of other router)....is it the common way why virtual templete is down and what is virtual access....can someone please xplain....thanks in advance

Hello Khan,

the virtual-access is cloned from the virtual-template and it is the effective L3 interface used on the PPP over FR session.

If the PPP session ends the virtual-access will go down.

So what you see should be normal behaviur.
