I am transisiting into an install and deployment position. I currently do mostly troubleshooting on Call Manager 4.x, 5, and 6. What are some of the rule of thumbs or install pointers to always keep in mind when installing or deploying equipment. I hope this also helps others with everyone's advise. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hi,
I don't know whether this answers your question but Cisco write and publish v-useful documents explaining all the key installation steps for CallManager and Unity.
I've attached them if it helps?:
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Installation and Upgrade Guides:

Thanks for the links, I guess I was looking for more of a quick understanding of a mind set you should have when preparing to deploy or install VOice equipment.
Sort of some rule of thumbs when doing installs or deployments. I understand not all installs are the same, but just something to prepare for.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

with 5.x and 6.x they're all the same.
insert DVD and that's it. the wizard will ask you all necessary information to install the system, in the end it will reboot and all will be installed.
just make sure to use compatible HW and SW versions
