Hi
The switch boots up immediately into Rommon mode. The flash system is empty. Is there a way to copy a new ios into the flash file system?

You will need to use xmodem to transfer a new IOS onto the 2950. Attached is a link to recovering software on 2950 switches -

Make sure you set BAUD rate to 115200 as that will speed things up a bit :-)
