How do I calculate what value my external antenna should be in dBm?

Unanswered Question

I am configuring some AIR-LAP1242AG AP's with a variety of external antennae. I notice within the WLC the antenna gain should be value which is then "x 0.5 dBm". My question is for an AIR-ANT4941 antenna, which is a 2.2 dBi Dipole 2.4 GHz, what should the value be configured to, and how do you calculate it?

Many Thanks

Jamie

It should be 4.4 you calculate by doubling the db of the antenna. 4.4 x .5= 2.2 A lot of people ask why the software calculates it this way. There are 2 answers. One, it is the way the algorithms are calculated to paint the heatmaps and two, because that's how it's always been done dang it! LOL Just kidding.
