Cat3750 SSH problem

Hi all,

I have a stack of 5 Cat 3750 switches which I just upgraded to SW version 12.2(46)SE. The stack performs fine under the telnet transport however when I enable SSH the management becomes very sluggish or slow. I have the same setup on a stack of test switches and I have not encountered this issue. The logs on the stack show the following:

Nov 5 10:40:11: %SCHED-3-THRASHING: Process thrashing on watched message event. -Process= "SSH Process", ipl= 6, pid= 264

-Traceback= D79168 D798B4 15D02CC 15D0654 17E04EC 17E0F78 17E19D4 17E250C 17E25E0 19C424 19C688 19CDC4 19CC70 D30A90 17E58FC 17E61E8

I see this is a known bug CSCin64958, however my version of code should not contain this bug. Has anyone encountered this issue? I would like to enable SHH on all my switch stacks but feel this is a major obstacle. Thank you.

I too experience this with version 12.2(46)SE.

Thanks for your response. I just noticed that my test stack(which has not encountered this issue) is actually 12.2(44)SE3. I am going to put this version on one of my production stacks and see if this solves the problem. I will let you know if this release works. As of now my test stack with 44 has been completely stable.

Hi,

1.I will suggest to use 12.2(25)SEE2 , quite stable.

2.I have configured SSH on Catalyst 3750 with IPBASEK9/IPSERVICEK9 , on 12.2(25)SEE2 , for many switches, trust me it works fine.

3.Also use "transport input all" , just to test it.

HTH..rate if helpful..

Thank you Satish. 12.2(25)SEE2 will be the next one I try since you are using it and know it is stable on many switches. Right now I have the 44 installed and set to reload early tomorrow morning. I will probably let this one "burn in" for a week or so and see what happens before I continue. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Code version 12.2(44)SE3 appears to be stable and has shown very little in the way of "sluggishness". I absolutely do not recommend using the 46 version if you intend on enabling SSH. Thank you to all who responded to this issue.

Thanks for the update.

Does anyone know if 12.2(50)SE solved the SSH problem?
