Hi,
I have a Cisco 1841 router with the following modules installed:
HWIC-1ADSL
HWIC-2SHDSL
For some reason the HWIC-2SHDSL module in slot 1 is not supported / disabled in this slot according to the 'show diag' command. (Please see attached show_diag.txt)
From the configuration manual the minimum Cisco IOS Release should be version 12.4(11)XJ. The output from the 'show version' command outputs the following:
Cisco IOS Software, 1841 Software (C1841-BROADBAND-M), Version 12.4(4)T8, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(13r)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
My question is do I have the correct ISO version installed on the router? If I do have the correct version why when I run the command 'controller shdsl 1/0/0' do I get the following output?
router(config)#controller shdsl 1/0/0
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Attila,
try to upgrade to
BROADBAND c1841-broadband-mz.124-22.T.bin
as per feature navigator
searching for feature I found support for two to 4 wire SHDSL detection
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3t/12_3t7/feature/guide/gt4wire.html#wp1027184
So this should support the SHDSL HWIC
current ios is clearly not able
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Thanks Giuseppe, I have updated the IOS and it now recognizes the SHDSL module.
Cheers,
Attila
