I inserted a new NM-FE2W - V2 Card into a 3660 Cisco Router but the card is neither detected nor recognised when i dis "shop ip int brief" command. how can I activate this card and make it work on the 3660 Router with IOS image c3660-i-mz.122-5d? The card works on 3845 Router.

the IOS image is too old for sure.
this because C3660 is declared able to support NM-1GE.

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I have suspected that the IOS is too old for the card. But please how best can I upgrade the IOS? I have attempted to upgrade it sometime ago, but at a stage, it requested for PCMCIA Card; and I dont have it, because I inherited the network, after the former administrator resigned.

Hi,
If you are referring to "NM-1FE2W-V2" or "NM-2FE2W-V2" module then they are supported on 3600 series routers.
However the minimum IOS required for these second generation modules is - 12.2(12)M or 12.2(13)T.

You need an IOS upgrade.
