Cisco 3845 router

Unanswered Question

I would like to buy 4 units of 4-Port Serial HWIC for my cisco 3845 router.

Can I know whether I can use all the 4 HWIC slots on the router? I need to 16 E1 ports.

I have this problem too.

You can use 4-port HWIC card on 3845. You will have 16 serial ports on the router. Is it a serial interface that you require on the router or an E1 interface?

Hi,

If you are referring to HWIC-4T1/E1 module, yes you can have 4 such modules in 3845.

But before deciding on this module please have a look at the limitations/restrictions of this module, for instance it does not supports voice -
