Hello,
does the ATA 186 supports T.38 for fax conections? If not, which model does support T.38?
Thank you!

Hi Johan,
The ATA-186 does only support Fax-Pass-through (upto 14.4k!).
An ISR with an analogue Voice/Fax modules would support T.38 as well.
You can also wait for the upcoming VG202/VG204 gateways which are new 2 or 4 ports analogue gateways, more or less "replacements" for the ATA-186.

Eric

Thank you! Sorry, but was is "ISR?

ISR = "Integrated Services Routers"
Like the 28xx, 38xx, etc. kind of routers, with (expansion) slots for (NM, VIC, VWIC, etc) modules(like a FXS module for analogue lines, for example).

Eric

Thank you! Is there no "normal" ATA that supports T.38?

Cisco does only have the ATA-186 (and formerly the ATA-188, with 1 analogue port compared to 2 ports for the ATA-186, but is End-of-Sale) without the T.38 support.
I am afraid that there aren't other "normal" ATA's from Cisco available. As i mentioned before, your only choice seems to be using an ISR with somekind of analogue expansion module.

Eric

Okay, thank you very much. Do you know the exaxt description or model name of the needed FXS module?
