Recurring problem with SSCs

We have WCS, two WLCs and a number of access points. The system generally works pretty well, but we have a recurring problem where an AP will suddenly stop talking to the network. The solution is to remove the SSC from the AP authentication page and add it again. It seems as if the SSC is somehow getting corrupted. This is happening fairly regularly, at least once every week or so. It has happened twice this week already and it is not always with the same AP.

Any ideas?

FYI, our WCS is running 5.0.56.0 and the WLCs are running 4.2.61. I think we probably should upgrade WCS to 5.1 and then upgrade the WLCs to 4.2.173, but that would have to be a weekend project.
