3750 stacking problem

Hi

I've got a new switch which has been added to our other 3750 switch. The problem is I can't seem to see the interfaces for the second switch when I run "sh int status". When I looked at the output of "sh switches" it says:

sh switch

Current

Switch# Role Mac Address Priority State

--------------------------------------------------------

*1 Master 001c.571b.be00 3 Ready

2 Member 0000.0000.0000 0 Provisioned

How did the switch end up in this "provisioned" state and how do I fix it to be live and working?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Dan-

Take a look at the following URL. It explains why you could be getting this error (my guess is IOS version) as well as provisioning.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_25_see/configuration/guide/swstack.html#wp1178943

Hope that helps.

make sure the major IOS versions match.

Hi

Thanks for all your replies. For all the advanced solutions I guess this simple solution is the one that makes you slap your forehead!!!

The guy who plugged the switches in forgot to plug the stacking cable in hahahaha!!

Hopefully that will solve the problem :)

Thanks

Dan
