I'm trying to set up a monitor session on a cisco 2960 and everytime I put the config in place, the destination port goes into UP/DOWN status. Once I remove the command, the interface comes right up. Any advice is most appreciated.
Yes, it is normal behavior that the status of the destination interface is up/down (monitoring) because this port doesn't work as a normal port; it is like a dummy port that only works to monitor the traffic that we are specifying.
