Cisco 1711 IOS Version

Hi all,

Does anwyone know which IOS I need to install on my Cisco 1711 router so that when I type in show ver it says Cisco 1711 insteatd of Cisco IPM (MPC86). I need to ge the proper IOS because SDM is not working because of this Cisco IPM version issue

After some research, it seems the problem is seen when the router has a faulty hardware component. Can you provide the show diag output?

BTW, if you aren't using a feature that only is available in the T train, I recommend staying away from it.

You should try the mainline train, IOS release c1700-advsecurityk9-mz.124-21a.bin

My research indicates this is causing the problem:

Unknown Port adapter, 5 ports

Since the device is a fixed model, not modular, you would need to replace the unit. It's an EOL product and I assume it's not under Cisco warranty. If the name issue is that important to you, I recommend upgrading the hardware to a 1800 model.
