Accessing the CSC-SSM module

Hi,

Is it possible to access the CSC-SSM module via the ASA backplane after assigning the IP to the management ports of ASA and CSC-SSM. Or is it required that both the management ports are physically connected to the network and the communication between the ASA and CSC happens through a physcial link.

Also, I am not able to ping the management port IP (both ASA and SSM) from a host on a different subnet. I have not enabled management-only option on the interface.

Please assist.
