SPAN vlan traffic across WAN

Site A and B have 2 vlans each. They are inter-connected via WAN link. Is it possible to capture SPAN traffic of vlan 1 in site A and send it across WAN to a server in vlan 1 segment on site B? Any documentation available for this scenario?

Thanks in advance...

It depends on the switches you are using. You need something called ERSPAN (Encapsualted Remote Span) which allows you to send SPAN traffic across a routed network.

The 6500 switches support ERSPAN - not sure about other switches -

Jon,

Thanks for the link. I read somewhere about ERSPAN. Not sure the sup (in 6500) in our environment supports it. Will post if I am successful.
