I have a question regarding Cisco Unified Communication Manager 6.1 upgrade, we have customer already order to upgrade from CUCM 4.2.3 to CUCM 6.1.2.
I know about this upgrade that system will check for the current number & type of connected IP Phones already installed with CUCM 4.X then it will provide the license depends on this calculation.
But this has 800 different types of IP Phones & has already purchased 120 IP Phones but it's still in the BOX not distributed yet, he asking if there is a solution to include those 120 phones while doing the upgrade as it's very difficult or actually impossible to move them out from the boxes then plug into PoE switches during the upgrade process then put them back aging inside the boxes.
Or he has to purchase new DLUs for those 120 phones if they are not attached during the installation?
Please advice.

just BAT all those 120 phones into the CUCM before you run DMA, they don''t have to be connected, just configured.

The simplest solution in your situation maybe for you to contact Cisco licensing at licensing@cisco.com and they should provide your with a spreadsheet.
This should be completed and returned them so that they can generate your license file for you.
Hope this helps.

you should have a PAK for those phones, when you register those PAKs you should get the necessary DLUs for each phone model to work
