Operation State Down, Cause=Max Retrasmission

Hello,

My setup:

WLC 4402

1131 Access points

Problem: Sometimes AP radios are shutdown

Trap Logs show this:

AP's Interface:0(802.11a) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:00:21:55:ac:29:40 Cause=Max Retrasmission

AP's Interface:0(802.11b) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:00:21:55:ac:29:40 Cause=Max Retrasmission

what's cause and how to sovle this problem?

Hi,

Not sure if this goes for you, but I've seen similar messages when I had H-REAP configured LAPs controlled by a remote controller, where the round trip delay exceeded the 120ms (as mentioned in the design guide 120ms is the max RTD between LAP and Controller).

I had to install a controller in a location closer by, with a better round trip delay between controller and access-point to get this resolved.

After I installed the controller with less then 120ms RTD to the APs, the problem was gone.
