I have a 7935 that will not find the callmanager's IP addresses. We're running Unified CM 6.1.1 and the phone's firmware version is 3.1(4.00)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Make sure to check your DHCP setting do NOT include option 151. The 7935 may hang with this option on.

Make sure the following is on the DHCP server:

Option 003: Default Gateway

Option 006 DNS Servers

Option 015 Domain Name

Option 066 Boot Server Hostname (TFTP server) (Not Mandatory)

Define option 150 if the TFTP Server does not have an entry in the DNS server.

Option 003: Default Gateway

Option 150: TFTP server IP address

Add a custom TFTP server, option 150, by doing the following:

In Microsoft DHCP server, Select the DHCP scope.

On the DHCP Options menu, click Defaults.

Click New.

Type TFTP Server IP address in the name field.

Choose IP address in the data type list.

Type 150 in the identifier box and click OK.

Select Option 150 from the from the Option Name under the Value section, type the IP address of the

TFTP Server in the DHCP Options Default Values window, and click OK.

Add Option 150 in Cisco Network Registrar (CNR)

Select the DHCP cluster.

Select the Advanced tab and click on Custom Options.

Click Add.

Enter Option number 150 and the Option Data Type of IP address. Click OK.

Click on the Policies tab and select your policy.

Add the custom Option 150.

Enter the TFTP IP address under IP address array.

Click on Always send to DHCP clients.

Enter Yes to commit the changes to the database.

Another thing to check is the true mac address. We have found several 7935s that had different mac addresses on the labels on the phones than what was indicated via admin setup or system information.

Make sure you do NOT configure the command Switchport voice vlan command on the switch. as per this document.
