Call Routing

In Call Manager 6.1.1 on the Directory Number Configuration page, there is the Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings Section and in this the Destination.

Is it possible to select more than one destination?

Ex: For busy no answer can you put in destination more than one extension.

If busy call 8215, if they do not answer call 8217 ?

you would need to configure a hunt pilot as the destination, but there is no way to configure more than 1 destination on that box

Hello,

you can use a HuntList/LineGroup to accomplish that. Inside the Line group you can configure multiple extensions and distribute incoming calls using any of the following options.

Distribution Algorithm

Choose a distribution algorithm, which applies at the line-group level, from the options in the drop-down list box:

•Top Down-If you choose this distribution algorithm, Cisco Unified Communications Manager distributes a call to idle or available members starting from the first idle or available member of a line group to the last idle or available member.

•Circular-If you choose this distribution algorithm, Cisco Unified Communications Manager distributes a call to idle or available members starting from the (n+1)th member of a line group, where the nth member is the member to which Cisco Unified Communications Manager most recently extended a call. If the nth member is the last member of a line group, Cisco Unified Communications Manager distributes a call starting from the top of the line group.

•Longest Idle Time-If you choose this distribution algorithm, Cisco Unified Communications Manager only distributes a call to idle members, starting from the longest idle member to the least idle member of a line group.

•Broadcast-If you choose this distribution algorithm, Cisco Unified Communications Manager distributes a call to all idle or available members of a line group simultaneously. See the Note in the description of the Selected DN/Route Partition field for additional limitations in using the Broadcast distribution algorithm.

The default value specifies Longest Idle Time.

Check this out for more details.

Regards.

I created a Line Group. How do I use this with the directory number I want to have the call route associated with?

Mojo,

To achive what you want you will need to do the following...

1. assume ext 1219 and extension 1226 are the ones you want to send the CFB or CFNA to.

2. You will need to ocnfigure Line-group..AFter this you will need to add ext 1219 and 1226 to the line group.

3. YOu will then need to configure a hunt-list, assign the line group configured above to it.

4. you will then need to configure a hunt-pilot, assign the hunt-list above to it.

Assume the hunt-list ext is 1227.

5. On your CFB and CFNA, you will set it to 1227.

If you want both phones to rin at the same time set the Distribution Algorithm on your line gorup to broadcast.

Hi Bill,

Not sure about CCM 6.1 (we don't run it yet :) but on all other versions these are two seperate settings. So you can have different destinations like you desire;

Forward Busy - 8215

Forward No Answer - 8217

Hope this helps!
