Hello, I'm just starting out with my CCNA. Could someone explain to me what the difference is between a Cisco Catalyst switch and just a Cisco switch? I can't seem to find a good answer. Thanks,

Catalyst is the line of Cisco switch targeted as LAN switches.

There are other types of Cisco switches such as Blade switches, SFS switches (infiniband), BPX/MGX switches (WAN Switches).
