phone stuck on 'Unprovisioned'

Unanswered Question

Cisco 7940 ip phone.

I tried to convert the above phone to SIP and now the display says 'Unprovisioned Phone'. I do have SIP in the top right hand corner of the display so it was partially successful.

I read in a cisco doc that this was 'due to the lack of the correct syntax in the

OS79XX.TXT file'. But I've checked the OS79XX.TXT file and the syntax is correct. Other than that I can't find any further info to resolve this. Thanks for any help.

I have this problem too.

thanks for your response. I managed to solve the problem by using a good SIP.cnf template and then tailoring it to my own settings.
