let say we have one trunk t1 using dot1q and other trunk using isl. Can we combine these two trunk in etherchannel? or encapsulation must be same for the trunks in order to form etherchannel?
The encapsulation types must be the same to for an etherchannel bundle form. The interfaces that are configured for a port channel must be configured the same.
As Mark stated we need to have identical configs in order to join the ports in an ether-channel.
