What kind of humidity do you guys shoot for in your data center? I've always read that 40 to 60% is ideal however lately I've been facing around 20%. Fortunately we have ESD friendly flooring but there are other problems than just ESD. Just curious what everyone out that shoots for. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'd personally shoot for no lower that 40%, but it's a somewhat controversial subject. There's a standards body in the US which recommends 40% to 55%, but even they say 20% to 80% can be "acceptable".

The fact is that the lower the humidity the higher the risk from ESD so I'd rather play it safe.
