If you want to use just one vlan, then you would need to set under your SSID:

authentication open

authentication key-management wpa

wpa ascii key

Under your radio interface:

int do0

encryption vlan 1 mode ciphers tkip

i ve one vlan defined for wireless.

i think we need to change profile settings on the user end.shouldn't we?

Yes. When the clients "switch over", they're going to lose association with the AP. You'll have to change the encryption type under the client from wep to wpa-psk (if windows).

how do we accomplish this through SMS. through scripts?

You may be able to do that, or through GPO, but I'm not a big Microsoft guy. You'll probably want to contact them to see if there's a way to do this through scripting of some kind. Otherwise, you'll need to send a message out to all of your users describing how to switch over to the new security method.
