What packets will be dropped?

Unanswered Question

Also, does any know packets with what errors would be dropped by an interface? For example, I know that the packets that have FCS or CRC errors would be dropped by a switch or router interface. But what about other type of errors such as Align-Err, FCS-Err, Xmit-Err, Rcv-Err, Undersize, OutDiscards, Runts, etc...

I have this problem too.

Just about any error (with 1 or 2 exceptions)will cause the packet to be dropped, not just CRC's, FCS, etc. If you need more detail on a particular error you can find it here:

In answer to the previous question about finding the source IP of the device generating giants - it's not easy to answer this without more info as there are few cosmetic bug's relating to giants. A "show version" and "show interface" output would help narrow the field.
