Hi all,
I'm trying to set up Manager and Assistant phones. We're looking to have something along the lines of:
1. Bunch of about 5 or six managers
2. Three 'assistants'.
3. Each assitant has a shared line of all the managers. They can pick up those lines when it rings. If the call is actually for the manager, they can put it through, otherwise take a message.
Now, I've got most of that working. The problem is, if the assistant picks up the call (i.e. from the shared line) then tries to put it through to the manager, it of course fails as you are already using that line.
Our existing phone system does it that way. I can't use proxy support, as our management numbers are spread about all over the place, so it's not possible to cover them all within the CTI route point wildcards. Or is there a workaround?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks for the reply. The manuals didn't really answer the question (at least, the 5.1 manuals didn't, which is what I'm currently running).
Anyway, I later found out IPMA is a licence-able feature, which I didn't realise, so we can't use it unless we pay for it. Besides, I found a much simpler work around anyway, so I'm going to do that. It turned out I'd totally misunderstood how our managers use their phones!
Thanks for the reply anyway.
