Greeting
I have a simple multicasting problem, but is so difficult to me.
two machine plug into a cat6500, same vlan and same subnet. the subnet is no routing.
host configuration is:
interface GigabitEthernet12/12
switchport
switchport access vlan 111
switchport mode access
mls qos vlan-based
flowcontrol send off
spanning-tree portfast
do I need configure any multicast feature to make two machine can taling in multicast enviroment?
Any comments will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

If the receiver is not sending an IGMP join you need to turn of IGMP Snooping.

Julie,
You shouldn't need to enable anything for it to work.

Good point. Or you could also configure an IGMP querier, which will be more efficient as multicast traffic wll not be flooded on all ports for that vlan. Refer to the following document for more information on how to configure an IGMP querier.
