pinging the standby ASA

experts, we have a ASA active/standby setup and would like to have the standby firewall monitored as well via PING, but we can only ping the active firewall. The configuration on the firewall are identical. Please help.

You should be able to ping the standby IP address. Post just your standby config for review.

how is routing setup on your failover set?

if you only use dynamic routing, it might not work unless you ping from a directly connected host.

the routing table is not replicated, so in the standby state, the pix can only 'talk' to directly connected hosts.
