LMS License

Unanswered Question

Hi,

I have installed a LMS 3.0 single server installation. The license I bought for this installation is 5,000 device license.

According to the documentation I read on LMS 3.0,the single server installation can manage 3,500 devices. My organization will exceed 3,500 devices before the end of next year and I want all devices, 4,500+ devices; to be managed by LMS 3.O.

My question is can a single server installation manage 5,000 devices sucessfully?

Someone who has an had an experience with this should please help me.

Thanks in advance.

I have this problem too.

I think you need to upgrade your license to LMS 3.1. LMS 3.1 now supports up to 5,000 devices for all applications that are installed in a single Solution server.

LMS 3.1 can support:

• 3 concurrent users for LMS 100 and LMS 300 License types.

• 20 concurrent users for LMS 1,500, LMS 5,000 and LMS 10,000 License types.

Multiple number of simultaneous users can affect system performance. 20 concurrent users is the maximum recommended number. However, this depends on the size and configuration of the server.

Hello,

How do I go about the license upgrade from LMS 3.0 to 3.1.

Do you know if there is any cost implication to this?

Please reply.

Thanks.

LMS 3.1 accepts LMS 3.0 licenses directly. There is no license upgrade involved. It's a no-cost upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1. You can have the LMS 3.1 software shipped to you, via the "Product Upgrade Tool

" at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade
