What is wrong with the following configuration ? its from a skills assessment interview questions.
Host IP Address:172.16.55.36
Subnet Mask:255.255.255.240
Default gateway:172.16.55.1
DNS Servers : 172.18.1.1 , 172.18.1.2

The gateway is wrong. It's probably 172.16.55.33.

For the
IP address : 172.16.55.36
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.240
Network Address: 172.16.55.32
Broadcast Address : 172.16.55.47
So the valid host address for the above subnet are (excluding network address and broadcast address)
172.16.55.33
172.16.55.46
The gateway does not belong to this range, which is why way the gateway is wrong.
Likewise you could correct the host address itself so that it is in the same subnet as the gateway.
